INOVAN GOES DIGITAL – PCIM 2020

The increasing number of applications with Aluminum as an electrical conductor, e.g. in the field of e-mobility, it is subject to high requirements. Especially in the production, where the factors cost optimization and weight reduction play an essential role.

In this context, Inovan has reviewed two questions:

  1. Could aluminum replace copper alloys for bus bars, lead frames and connectors?
  2. Or could copper replace aluminum alloys for wire/ribbon bonding in longlife products?

These two questions have now been answered in the technical presentation " Electroplating of Aluminum and Copper for Reliable Electrical Connections for Power Electronics" at the PCIM digital event.

The PCIM Europe is the world's leading exhibition and conference for power electronics, intelligent motion, renewable energy and energy management and took place in a different format this year. Due to the current circumstances, the organizers transformed this fair into a digital event.

The virtual lecture program with more than 300 conferences and forum presentations attracted about 4,500 participants in the two days. Inovan's 10-minute presentation was discussed during a live session on Tuesday afternoon. A total of 52 customers and potential interested parties registered for this presentation. The participants included developers, technical experts, specialists from the research area as well as students.

You can find the answer to the two questions above in the linked video.
